At Sky, we like to ring in the new season in style. Let’s toast to new beginnings with 6 of our favorite luxury spring cocktails.

1. Strawberry-Basil Margarita

Perfect for sipping by the pool on spring nights, the Strawberry-Basil Margarita is a memorable twist on a classic summer cocktail recipe. The basil adds just the right amount of bite to the fruity sweetness, while low-key tequila signatures ensure a smooth balance until the last drop.

Makes 8 servings

  • 12 oz frozen limeade concentrate
  • 30 oz water
  • 10-12 fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 8 fresh basil leaves
  • 2-2 ½ cups tequila
  • Salt and sugar (optional)

Empty the limeade into the pitcher, and combine with water and tequila. Add the strawberries and the basil leaves, making sure to bruise the leaves a little so they release their flavor into the mixture. Chill for at least 4 hours before serving with a basil leaf garnish. For a subtle touch of sophistication, use a fresh strawberry to moisten the rim of the glasses before dipping the rims in a half sugar, half salt mixture.

2. Lady Mary Lillet Champagne Cocktail

Based on everybody’s favorite love-to-hate Downton Abbey sister, Lady Mary Crawley, this champagne-infused cocktail will create quite the reputation for itself. Highlighting Mary’s acerbic wit with the biting Lillet Blanc French wine, this drink will surely be the talk of the town – and earn you points with the right crowd in the process. Just bear in mind that this bubbly number goes down very easily.

For each individual cocktail:

  • 1.5 oz Lillet Blanc
  • .75 oz fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • 4-5 basil leaves
  • ice
  • a drop of brut champagne, chilled

Add the lemon and basil to your cocktail shaker and muddle. Add the Lillet and some ice, shake again and strain into a flute. Top off the drink with champagne.

3. Green Tea Mojitos

For those occasions when a dip in the pool just isn’t enough to cool down from the heat of a sun-soaked Nevada day, this thirst-quenching cocktail will do the trick. Green tea is also known for its antioxidant properties, making this a spring indulgence you can feel good about drinking.

Makes 8 servings

  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • 32 large mint leaves
  • 5 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 cups brewed and chilled green tea
  • 1 cup white rum
  • ice

Combine the lime juice, sugar, and mint in the pitcher. Be sure to bruise the mint leaves so their flavor is released into the mixture. Add the chilled green tea and rum, stir well, and refrigerate until serving time. Serve over ice in tall glasses.

4. The El Diablo

As the name suggests, the El Diablo is a devilishly sly cocktail that will shock you with its vibrant aroma and unforgettable flavor. A mixture of crème de cassis, ginger beer, and tequila, this exotic cocktail will grab your attention from the very first sip.

Makes 12 servings

  • 12 oz frozen limeade concentrate
  • 18 oz tequila blanco
  • 8 oz creme cassis
  • 6 oz water
  • 18 oz ginger beer
  • ice

Combine the limeade, tequila, creme cassis, and water in a pitcher. Add the ginger beer just before serving over ice. For a stylish dinner party, jazz up your presentation by adding a few fresh blackberries to the glasses.

5. Bloody Strawberry Gin and Tonic

A twist on the classic gin and tonic, this refreshing drink promises a taste profile of tartness like you’ve never experienced before. Ideally served at any outdoor spring event, this cocktail won’t disappoint in its flavor or colorful presentation.

For each individual cocktail:

  • ice
  • 3 oz gin
  • ½ blood orange
  • 1 large strawberry, thinly sliced
  • tonic water

Fill a tall, chilled glass halfway up with ice and add the gin. Squeeze in the juice of the blood orange half, and add the strawberry slices. Top up the drink with tonic water before stirring and serving with a strawberry garnish.

6. The Classic Americano

Not to be confused with the widely popular coffee drink of the same name, this Americano’s regal confidence sets it apart from all other cocktails. Most commonly served as an aperitif, the Classic Americano’s main ingredient, Campari, is known for its uniquely bitter citrus taste. But, pair with sweet vermouth and you get a magical cocktail with a well-balanced flavor profile.

For each individual cocktail:

  • ice
  • 1 ½ oz Campari
  • 1 ½ oz sweet vermouth
  • Club sodaAn orange slice for the garnish

Fill an old-fashioned tumbler with ice. Pour in the Campari and sweet vermouth, before topping off with club soda and serving with the orange garnish.

Whether you’re partial to bitters or fond of fruit-infused sweetness, this list of signature cocktails offers something for everyone. So celebrate the spring season in style with a cocktail party at your condo, or by our very own Sky pool. Cheers!
